Mission:
Mission is what God calls us to do
We, the people of Millwoods Evangelical Free Church, are called to glorify God by making disciples
who reach up (worship), reach in (discipleship) and reach out (evangelism).VISION: (Vision is our
understanding of how God will use us to accomplish our mission) Our vision is to earn a reputation
in the Millwoods communities and i Southeast Edmonton as a Christ focused community of believers
that effectively connects people to God in vital spirituality and to one another in authentic
community.
Values:
Core Values are the foundational concepts that unite us and motivate us in ministry
We are committed to…
- A presupposition* of Biblical Authority
We believe that God’s Word is truth (Jn.17:17), and is therefore foundational to our faith
and our practice of faith (II Tim.3:16-17), representing a trustworthy guide for our lives
(Ps.119:105; 19:7-11; Acts 4:19-20).
- A priority of Making Disciples
We believe Christ’s heart and example guide us to prioritize the winning (Lk.19:10; Acts 1:8),
building (Matt.28:18-20) and equipping (Lk.6:40) of disciples of Jesus Christ.
- A pursuit of Vital Spirituality
We believe that God wants us to have a vital spiritual life through worship (Jn.4:24), personal
devotion (Jn.15:4), and willing obedience (I Jn.2:3-6), growing in the knowledge of God through
our relationship with Jesus Christ (Pr.2:4-5; Col.1:9-13; Rom.6:11).
- A practice of Authentic Community
We believe authentic Christian community best demonstrates the redemptive presence of
God to the world and our community. It implies a commitment to common beliefs and
practices (Acts 2:42-49; I Jn.1:5-7), and a commitment to loving relationships with one
another (Jn.13:34; I Jn.3:16-18).
- A process of Equipping Ministers
We believe that all Christians are called and given gifts to be personally involved in ministry
(II Pet.2:9; II Cor.5:16-20; Eph.4:11-13) and that we are all responsible to discover and use
those gifts for God’s glory in building and advancing God’s Kingdom.
* A presupposition is a central and necessary belief that is foundational to our
other commitments.
